You will need to organise a few things from Poland. It can be daunting when you do not know the language - that's why you want to come to England after all - and you don't know anybody to help you. Well now you do. This is where we come in.

Our Offer

School

  1. You send us your requirements, stating the length of the English course you are interested in, the ideal location of the school, the information whether you will require accommodation as well, your approximate budget, and any additional information which can help us select the right school for you. The prices vary from about 600 GBP to 2000 GBP and more per academic year. Not everybody immediately opts for the cheapest one.
  2. Based on this initial information received from you, we will recommend a school. We will send you details about the school and the total cost.
  3. You send us full payment for the chosen course, inclusive of any administrative and other one off charges as applicable.
  4. We send your payment to the school. The school issues you a Certificate of Enrolment, i.e. the letter confirming your booking.

Accommodation

In similar way we can book accommodation in London for you. Students accommodation offer is not ours, but it is a service provided by most schools of English that we work with. Prices for rooms booked this way are rather high and are approximately 80-90 GBP per week. The advantage is that you will receive a booking confirmation, which will be a helpful document to have while entering the UK. We usually advise to book a room for the first one or two weeks only, and use this time to find cheaper accommodation for the rest of your stay.

Callan School of English

This school has always been very popular with Polish people, and some of the admin staff is Polish too, which always seems to help students feel more at home. The school is located at the centre of London, in the middle of a busy shopping street. The school is probably best suited for students at beginner level, who want to overcome the fear of speaking English. It employs a 'Callan method' of teaching, which is based on asking questions and replying to them at fast speed. Each sentence, whether spoken by the teacher or the student is repeated twice. The London Skills Institute

The school has two branches in north London and one in Oxford Street. TLSI offers their students a facility whereby they can book their accommodation for the duration of their stay in London. TLSI often offers the cheapest language courses in town, thanks to their frequent special offers.

At the moment the cheapest 12 months full time course at the TLSI, only available at their Seven Sisters branch, costs L460. This course starts at 3.30pm and finishes at 6.30pm. The price for the same course at other, more centrally located branches, is L599.

The London Skills Institute

Oxford House College

This school is located in central London, a walk away from Trafalgar Square and Piccadilly Circus. It is very popular with students from all over the world, not least because it offers good social life as well as studying English.
The school also arranges accommodation for students, either a hostel style accommodation that you share with other students, or a room living with an English family. The student hostels are situated mostly within walking distance from the school. The accommodation 'with a family' means you will be staying further away from the center, which means commuting to school every day. Avalon School of English

Avalon School of English is situated central London, a few minutes' walk from Covent Garden (London theatre land), Soho and Oxford Street (London's busiest shopping street). Avalon offers a selection of courses, including their flagship course, Avalon Direct English, exam courses preparing for Cambridge PET, FCE, CAE, CPE and IELTS, English for Business and English for Travel and Tourism. Students' first contact at the school is likely to be a member of multi-lingual reception staff. Each student is interviewed by a senior teacher before being placed in a suitable class. The school has a café, a social events calendar with trips to places of interest in and around London and Southern England, regular parties, cultural events at the school and weekend picnics. Students also have free internet access and a study centre.

Avalon School is popular with Polish students in London and there are currently over 90 Polish students representing about 20% of the total number of students at the school. There is a Polish receptionist available at the school to answer all your initial queries in case you do not speak any English.

Part time Evening Courses

If you are planning to stay in England for up to one year, and you would like to fit an English course around your busy schedule of sightseeing and having a good time, there are a number of colleges in London suburbs that offer part time daytime and evening English classes. These classes are usually held twice a week and run for 2 or 3 hours each. They run throughout the academic year, starting in early September, finishing in June. The courses usually lead to Cambridge recognised exams in English including First Certificate, Advanced and Proficiency exams.As these colleges are subsidized by local authorities, the courses are much cheaper than those offered by the private colleges in central London. One such college is the Croydon College. Croydon is a southern suburban area of London, a 20 minutes journey from Victoria by fast train.
