Ania's Poland
Recent research in the Granada region has highlighted that certain BAME (Black and Minority Ethnic) groups including the Polish sector have not engaged with switchover messages to date.
This means they will have low awareness of what they need to do and run the risk of losing their TV services at switchover if they have not taken the necessary action.
We have been approached by a company called Digital UK who are responsible for raising awareness of the switchover from analogue to digital TV across the UK.
They are a not for profit organisation set up by the government and run by the broadcasters. The Granada region is switching in early November and they are going to run a series of roadshows across the region to make consumers aware of the forthcoming switchover. Their roadshows are meant to supplement the other forms of communication which are undertaken, including TV advertising, press, PR and radio.
We have been asked by Digital UK to assist with their campaign to target these groups with two different forms of activity. The first activity would be targeting local community groups / associations, talking face to face with their members about what they need to do to be prepared for the switchover. The second would be a street campaign targeting areas where there are large clusters of our target population and talking to consumers on the street. Both events would be supported with branded equipment and bilingual material.
We would appreciate if you could contact us urgently if you could recommend any centres or areas where they could organise a roadshow or a similar awareness event among your local Polish community. We are looking for centres around the following towns and cities:
Manchester, Liverpool, Preston, Bolton, Blackburn, Blackpool, Rochdale, Oldham, Lancaster
We have recruited Polish speaking staff able to assist with interpreting and translating whenever necessary. We are looking to book more centres to visit within the next month and any assistance in finding some more locations would be much appreciated.
